Reports To:  Building Principal

Position Summary:

The Music/Band Director provides comprehensive music instruction and directs the school band program.  This position fosters students' musical growth, performance skills, creativity, and appreciation for music while developing teamwork, discipline, and leadership.  The director is responsible for classroom instruction, ensemble rehearsals, performances, and overall management of the band program. Will travel with the band to off-campus events and activities.

Qualifcations:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate.
• Proficiency in at least one primary instrument; multi-instrumental ability preferred.
• Experience directing ensembles.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Must pass an OSBI background check.
